Cutting it close.

It is Friday, August 22, and fall semester begins this coming Monday. I started looking into USU's Masters in Community Health program about a week ago and somehow I'm starting classes on Monday.

I've got one foot in and I'm cutting it very close and, while I feel insanely unstable - like I'm standing on uneven ground, I know that this is what I want. And that makes everything possible.

Breakable.

I think I've aged substantially this past week. Not in the way of wrinkles and fading memories, but in experience; in taking a giant step toward who I'm hoping to eventually become. Life is amazing and limitless. And sometimes it drives me crazy -- all the decisions to make, options of who to be and where to be and who to be with. But, I think it's important to remember that while we're in the midst of feeling directionless -- we are not pointless.

"Have you ever thought about what protects our hearts? Just a cage of rib bones and other various parts. So, it's fairly simple to cut right through the mess and to stop the muscle that makes us confess. We are so fragile. And our cracking bones make noise. And we are just breakable, breakable, breakable girls and boys."
